He started off in a creative and design capacity, moving into B2C and B2B PR and Marketing, and then into Strategic Marketing, Communications and Statistical Analysis. Dan has worked on creating award winning marketing and communications campaigns for leading food and drink, consumer, financial and charity brands, including Alpro Soya, Sacla, Chivas Brothers, Anthony Nolan and The Richmond Group. For DJS (UK) Limited, his focus is on the day-to-day running of the business, future planning, R&D, along with supporting marketing and the operational strategy. DJS (UK) Limited is a Fintech company in the heart of Bournemouth that build bespoke and innovative software solutions within the financial services sector. The two main branches of the business are PiggyBank, the UK’s fastest growing short term lender, and Leadtree Global, which provides real-time leads and works with brokers to broaden our customer base. Our primary goal as a business is to reach the right outcome for our staff, stakeholders, and customers. One of the philosophies of DJS (UK) Limited is ‘The Best Outcome isn’t Always the Simplest One’. We try to keep this at the heart of all we do, from the underwriting stage, to our interactions with customers. We achieve this goal through constant training and through technological innovations that are designed and built in-house. Dan is the first to admit that one of his main accomplishments is recognising skills in others that complement and support his own. This strategy has been adopted throughout the business: we ensure that new employees will be a good fit, and don’t simply hire people for the sake of growth. When we started as a company in 2012, it was with the intention of becoming the foremost responsible short-term lender by delivering preeminent customer service though all channels. The goal has never been to become the largest or most profitable lender, but to deliver the right outcomes. The other obvious aim of the business is to empower our colleagues to strive for excellence in all they do. We try to ensure that every member of staff is pushing for their own growth and personal development. Career progression is actively encouraged within the business: as a rapidly expanding company, more managerial positions are being created each year. This has been integral to driving our growth and maturity as a company. Of our first fifteen employees from 2012, twelve still work for the business. Those in senior management positions and leadership have almost all been with us since the inception of the company. They have therefore seen the philosophies of the business develop, so understand the progression of the culture and strive to achieve the company goals. The management team always go out of their way to show how much the staff are appreciated, and how much they contribute to the success of the business. Almost all of them started with the company in a customer facing role, so understand how vital these positions are. They also recognise that they don’t work as closely with our customers as other members of staff, and are not as familiar with some of the systems and processes. They therefore encourage and utilise feedback from areas such as the call-centre, to develop new processes. This not only improves productivity, it also increases staff engagement and helps them to feel valued. In the last year, DJS (UK) Limited has seen exponential growth: in March 2018 we moved to premises almost three times as large as the previous building. We hope to continue on this trajectory of growth, whilst ensuring we never stray from our core philosophies.
